Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-08-13. The short version: your camera feed is processed on your device and never uploaded, your payment is handled by Creem, and we collect the minimum needed to run the service.
On-device video processing
WeldSynth tracks your hands with a camera feed that is processed entirely on your device by a client-side machine-learning model (MediaPipe). Video frames are never uploaded to our servers, never recorded by us, and never leave your browser tab.
If you close the tab, nothing remains on our side because nothing was ever sent to our side.
Optional microphone: WeldSynth never requests microphone access by default. If you explicitly enable it in Settings → VOICE, your voice is mixed locally in your browser into your recordings and exports — it is never uploaded. You can revoke it at any time by switching the mic off or in your browser settings.
What we collect
Account email: if you register, we store your email address and a hashed credential through our authentication provider (Better Auth on a hosted Postgres database).
Payment records: purchases are processed by Creem, our Merchant of Record. Creem collects your payment method, billing details, and tax information. We never see, store, or transmit your card number.
Anonymous usage analytics: we use privacy-oriented analytics (Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights) that collect aggregate page-view and performance data without advertising identifiers.
Third-party processors
Creem (Merchant of Record): payment processing, tax handling, and refund execution.
Vercel: hosting, content delivery, and aggregate analytics.
Email delivery provider (when activated): used only to deliver license codes and transactional receipts.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies and local storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and browser local storage to remember your instrument settings (key, waveform, loop data) on your own device. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you at any time. California residents have the right to know what we collect and to request deletion; we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. EU/EEA residents may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

Data retention and security
Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted on request. Payment records are retained by Creem under their regulatory obligations. We apply encryption in transit (HTTPS) and hashed credential storage at rest.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update this page with a new revision date. Material changes will be announced on the site before they take effect.
