Setting Up Your Space

BEGINNER ACADEMY · 5 MIN READ

Hand tracking lives or dies on three variables: light, framing, and distance. Get them right once and every session after feels instant.

You do not need a studio. A desk lamp, an arm's length of space, and a plain background cover ninety percent of tracking issues reported by first-time players.

If the skeleton flickers, fix the light before you blame the model. Backlight is the number one cause of lost hands.

Setup checklist

STEP–01

Light your hands, not your screen

Front lighting beats backlight. A desk lamp behind the camera works better than a window behind you.

STEP–02

Frame both hands

Sit back until both hands fit the frame with room to tilt. Elbows resting is fine.

STEP–03

Keep the background boring

A plain wall outperforms a busy room. Contrast around your hands is what the tracker reads.

STEP–04

Calibrate once

Raise both hands until the skeleton locks. If tracking drifts, re-raise instead of restarting.

TRY IT NOW
